We have all been there. Your craving something, like almond butter for example, and you realize you don’t have it in your pantry. Its not quite worth the trip, especially if its not great weather, to get to the store to get some so a contingency plan is put into place. Its easy to make your own nut butter, its slightly easier if your not using a 10 year old food processor, just roast your nuts and blend it until the fats are released and its a smooth paste. In this recipe, almonds are used as the base of the butter but it would work nicely with walnuts or pecans as well. Cinnamon adds a boost of blood sugar regulating factors and the flaxseeds will not only help bind it ( with the addition of the little bit of water) but provide additional omega fatty acids. And if your going through the process of making nut butter when your in a pinch, might as well make some extra so you have it on hand for the next time you want some, for example an hour after you had it with toast…
