Toasty Homemade Granola

Toasty Granola

Ingredients

  • 4 cups organic thick cut oats
  • dash of sea salt
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup organic toasted almond slices
  • 1/4 cup organic sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp organic flaxseeds
  • 1/2 cup organic sprouted pepita seeds
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup organic walnut pieces ( you can always take halves and crunch them in a fist to break down)
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla bean paste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 175 degrees F

Mix all ingredients in a big bowl with a spoon

Line a baking sheet with wax paper

Evenly place granola mixture on wax paper

Cook for 1 hr, stir mixture every 15 minutes

Let cool before storing or gifting

Granola is so easy to make at home you have no excuse not to! Save your $8 and spend it on something else, like a cocktail. Since the base of Granola is a base is oats its a crunchy sweet way to get your day started. You can also have it for dessert or mixed into salads. Add a bit of oil like canola, almond, or coconut if you must, and a liquid sweetener like maple syrup, agave or honey. The toppings you add can be up to you based on your preferences. They can vary from any nuts, to dried fruit (which should be added at the end), coconut, cocoa nibs, and even spices such as cinnamon and cardamon. It can keep for about 2 weeks in a airtight container, so show your love to your family and friends by packing some up as gifts!
