Blistered Shisito Peppers

Serves: 2-4 Cooking Time: 10 min


  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 oz (170 g) Shisito Peppers
  • Freshly ground salt & pepper



Heat oil in a iron cast or non stick pan


Add the peppers, salt and pepper and cook for 3 min


Toss the peppers in the pan and cook for another 3-8 min until blackened on all sides


Serve warm

Popping Shisto peppers into your mouth is like playing a game of Russian Roulette, your never quite sure if the one you bite into is going to have a nice kick to it or you’ll dodge the bullet and get a mild one. This is exactly why they are so much fun to eat, and even better when you serve them at a gathering with friends. You might have seen these tempting little gems on restaurant menus, and they charge upwards of $9 for them, but they are so easy to make at home that you can do yourself a favor and save that money and put it towards a bottle of champagne.
